Just a few weeks ago, we finished this new custom Digital-Retro design for Clique Clic Photobooth in Montreal, Canada. They had requested that their photo booth have a strong vintage feel, while at the same time easilly accommodate vinyl wraps for corporate rentals. To fulfill this requirement, we designed the photobooth with rounded corners, so that the vinyl application could easily wrap the edges. In addition, Clique Clic wanted flexibility in transportation. The majority of the time, the booth will be rolled off their box truck and directly into a venue. However, if a size constraint is encountered, like  a small elevator, our client wanted the option to take it apart on the fly. Therefore, we constructed the booth in four main pieces.  The cabinet, rear seat area, wheel base and roof are all separate components. In a moment’s notice, they can be disassembled via conventional anchors. In addition, we also provided a touch screen interface at Clique Clic’s request. The system runs on a Shuttle sporting a solid state drive for lighting fast performance. After a short jaunt across the border into Canada, Clique Clic put this booth right to work right away.

We were very excited to introduce this new Digital-Retro Photobooth to 180Hostel in Berlin, Germany. She was shipped over in style via air-freight for a rapid delivery from Chicago to Berlin. Outfitted with sharp graphics and a high lacquer finish, this photo booth is well suited for 180′s uber hip lobby design. The build was completed by Mike in our Wisconsin workshop. Andrew silk-screened the custom signage and fabricated a beautiful light-box to give the booth that extra punch. A unique feature of this photobooth is that it does not print photos. It’s free for hostel guests. Images are emailed to the user via a touchscreen interface. In real time, photos are also displayed throughout the lobby on flat screens. This booth brings all the style of a vintage photobooth, but is optimized for the social media age.  All in, we were happy with the design and can’t wait to visit 180Hostel in the near future!

Over the last few weeks we have been super busy moving and outfitting our new location in Chicago! While the last two years in Oak Park were great, we quickly outgrew our space. Our new headquarters will be at 350 N. Ogden Ave., just  a few blocks south of the blue line. The new location combines the store, offices, workshop & photobooth storage in 4000 sq.ft.. We will still be keeping our Elkhorn, Wisconsin design/build workshop with Mike Greeley at the helm. So, right now, we are only moving the Oak Park base. With Jef Anderson from Yearbook Studios directing the interior design, things are starting to pop in a good way. We plan on having a large opening party on August 24th.
